19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to force a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
